When booking services remotely (online, by telephone, or by email), you may be entitled to a 14-calendar-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

This cooling-off period allows you to cancel your booking within 14 days of the booking confirmation without giving a reason.

The 14-day period starts on the date your booking is confirmed.

Can We Start Before the 14 Days Have Expired?

Yes.

We can provide the inspection service before the cooling-off period ends, but only where you expressly request an earlier appointment and acknowledge the effect this has on your cancellation rights.

Important

Once the inspection service has commenced, you may lose your right to cancel under the cooling-off period provisions.

For the purposes of this agreement, commencement of the service occurs when our inspector attends the property and begins the inspection.

Waiver Request and Agreement

By ticking the waiver checkbox during the booking process, you confirm that:

• You expressly request that FBSA Technology Ltd commence the inspection service before the expiry of the 14-day cooling-off period.
• You understand that once the inspection service has commenced, whether in whole or in part, you may lose your statutory right to cancel under the cooling-off period provisions.
• You acknowledge that if you do not wish to make this request, the earliest available inspection appointment will be scheduled for a date at least 14 calendar days after the booking date.
• You understand that choosing to waive the waiting period is entirely voluntary and that you may instead choose to wait until the 14-day period has expired.

If You Do Not Wish to Waive Your Rights

You are under no obligation to request an earlier appointment.

Simply do not request an appointment within the 14-day cooling-off period. Your appointment can instead be scheduled after the cooling-off period has expired, and your statutory cancellation rights will remain unaffected during that period.

Service Commencement

For the avoidance of doubt, "service commencement" means the point at which an FBSA inspector arrives at the property and begins carrying out the inspection.

Booking confirmation alone does not constitute commencement of the service.
